Founded in 2015, CreakyJoints Australia serves as a vital source of information for Australian patients with arthritis and their families. The overall mission of CreakyJoints Australia is to empower individuals living with arthritis to take an active role in their care by proactively advocating for themselves and their families, including discussing treatment preferences and partnering with healthcare providers. 

Their website provides information, support, advocacy opportunities, and connects patients with patient-centred research whenever they become available. Through a diverse range of digital platforms, Creaky Joints Australia provides access to up-to-date disease-specific information for over 100 arthritis conditions. 

As part of the US-based Global Healthy Living Foundation (GHLF), CreakyJoints Australia has modelled their programming and services based on successful activities in the US and Puerto Rico to meet the unique needs of the Australian community. CreakyJoints Australia provides a free and supportive network to patients and their families, thanks to the generosity of sponsors and philanthropic support.

Musculoskeletal Health Australia 

Musculoskeletal Health Australia (MHA) is the national, consumer organisation dedicated to supporting and advocating for people with arthritis, osteoporosis, back pain, gout, as well as over 150 other musculoskeletal conditions. MHA also has a strong focus on the role and importance of good musculoskeletal health.

Founded in 1968, MHA has been providing evidence-based support and disease-specific information to people with arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions for almost 60 years. This includes access to community webinars, information resources, events, peer support group, as well as support and materials for children with juvenile arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions. People with questions about musculoskeletal conditions or musculoskeletal health can also access support through MHA’s Back Pain, Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Conditions (B.A.M.) Helpline on 1800 263 265.

MHA remains committed to its founding principal of “real people helping real people” by continuing to offer free resources, guidance, and a supportive community for people living with musculoskeletal conditions to empower them to understand their conditions and live well.

Psoriasis Australia

Psoriasis Australia is the only Australian charity leading the way in raising awareness and understanding of psoriatic disease, which includes psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, among healthcare professionals and the Australian public. This organisation provides crucial support, information, advocacy, and education to individuals affected by psoriatic disease, as well as their families, carers, and healthcare providers. Psoriasis Australia offers a range of services, including peer-to-peer support, education programs, information, referrals, and a helpline. Their patient support groups offer a way for patients to connect with others experiencing a similar journey with their condition.

Recognising that face-to-face support may not be accessible for everyone, Psoriasis Australia also provides online support groups for people across the country to access from home. Collaborating with the pharmaceutical industry, Psoriasis Australia helped develop the “Get Psorted” website, which provides practical information about psoriasis, including treatment options, as well as advice for managing daily psoriasis symptoms.
